Interested in visiting Uganda (2015)?

A small planning team has started the process of organising another special visit to Uganda (2015). It's very early stages in the planning but it will be helpful to gauge interest in the project. Outline plans (subject to change) are to take part in the Uganda Centenary Jamboree (for 8,000 Scouts) as well as taking part in community projects and other activities. Obviously, this builds on the experience and success of Uganda 2011 and is part of the wider Project Africa programme.

(see Uganda 2011 at )

Subject to planning and interest, the visit will take place during July-August 2015 and there will be an essential training programme leading up to the event. The visit will be open to Scouts 14 years or older at 15 July 2015. The planning team is also looking for expressions of interest from leaders to help with organisation, training, and leading in Uganda, as well as leaders interested in being part of the core leadership/planning team.

If you register your interest it will enable the planning team to make direct contact with you when the first Information Sheet is available towards the end of February. Expressions of interest should be a brief email to the County Administrator at

Please use "Project Africa (Uganda 2015)" in the subject line and give your full name; Troop/Unit; and District. Leaders should state their role and also let us know of any experience they believe will be helpful to the project and if there is an interest in being part of the core leadership/planning team.

Other channels for circulating this information are being used but it will be appreciated if this item can be forwarded and shared as widely as possible to enable as many Scouts and Leaders as possible to at least have the opportunity to consider taking part in this great project.
