This winter we shall be running the Scout Master at Arms course for air rifle shooting over 8 sessions (some double sessions).

The course syllabus is the National Small bore Rifle Association (NSRA) Youth Proficiency Scheme (YPS) and covers the following topic areas : air gun law, safety, safe loading methods, range building, maintenance of air guns, basic shooting skills and range discipline.

To complete the course (and obtain your Master at Arms award), you must attend a minimum of 7 out of the 8 lessons (either of the two introductory sessions plus the remaining 7 sessions plus part of the assessment day. The course dates are as follows :

December:

Friday 15th                           19:30-21:30   (Introduction and range safety)

Sunday 17th                         09:00-13:00   (Introduction and range safety)

Friday 29th                           19:30-21:30   (Air gun law and range building)

Sunday 31st                         09:00-15:00  (Double session)


January: 

Sunday 7th                           09:00-15:00    (Double session)

Sunday 14th                         09:00-15:00    (Double session including assessments)

   

Uniform is not required during the course, sensible comfortable indoor clothing is more appropriate.

Cost of the course is £15 to cover the costs of consumables as well as snacks and lunch on the double sessions (marked above).
