Archery Course 2017

New for 2017 is our first Archery course which will run over the following dates from the end of January till end of March 2017.

This will cover much more than our normal "have-a-go" sessions we have run in the past and will include:

Different styles of archery shooting
Shooting at further distances
Using sights
Maintenance
Range set up and layouts
Safety and Taking Charge
Gain your Master at Arms Badge

This will be your opportunity to improve your technique, as well as become more involved in the running of archery.

You will also be shooting as part of the Archery GB Progress Award scheme, which will based on your final assessment shoot of 36 arrows.

Finally, you will ALL be given the opportunity to represent our Troop at the National Scout Archery Competition held at Phasels Wood on 6th and 7th May (Camping)

Places will be limited to 12, and the cost will be £10 to cover the badge costs, and some of the training aids.

Please note that the cost of the National Scout Archery Competition is NOT included in the cost of the course - BUT we will be arranging a fund raising opportunity for you to fund your way to the competition. - See opposite

Regarding Fundraising: (Added 14/01/17)

We have the opportunity to do about a days work cleaning the HQ for which the Group will pay for us to go to the Scout Archery competition.

As you are probably aware, the HQ is also extremely popular with other bookings, and trying to get you all together to achieve this could be difficult!

Therefore I have suggested what seems like the best date when I hope everyone is around, but I need to know NOW!

Please drop me an email to let me know you can make Easter Monday (17th April)
